Students from 19 high schools in Multnomah Counmty follow an application process that consists of three phases:

Phase one is the initial application. Community leaders volunteer as judges to review the applications and select the finalists.

Phase two is the portfolio submission. The judges then review and score the students based on their final portfolio submission.

Phase three is an interview with the judges who rank and determine first, second, and third places.

Academic All-Stars is a program jointly operated by the Multnomah Education Service District Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and the Multnomah Education Service District (MESD).
